Gmail is on its way to get one of the ‘major’ updates before 2019 comes to an end. The search giant announced that it will soon be giving users the ability to attach multiple emails in a single email for others to read it. Earlier users had to download emails offline and attach them to send it to others. Now Gmail has eliminated the downloading step and has made it easier to share emails as an attachment.
“We’ve heard from you that there are situations where attaching emails makes more sense than forwarding separate emails, like wanting to forward multiple messages related to a single topic. With this new functionality, you can do exactly that. Sending emails as attachments allows you to write a summary email message to your recipients, and attach the set of supporting emails that recipients can directly open in their mail client,” adds the G Suite blog post.
There are two ways how users can attach multiple emails in a single mail
First method:
Step 1: In Gmail inbox, create a new mail.
Step 2: Select multiple emails by clicking on the box beside each one.
Step 3: Drag and drop them in the email ‘compose’ box.
Step 4: The emails will add as a regular attachment.
Second method:
Step 1: In the Gmail inbox select emails that you want to send to others.
Step 2: Once selected, click on the overflow (three-dot) menu on top.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Forward as attachment’ option.
If you want to add emails as an attachment in a reply email, you can simply click on the small ‘Pop out reply’ box in the reply email. The box is placed on the top right corner. Clicking it will open it as an independent box to which you can drag and drop emails.
The blog post adds that when the emails are attached, they convert to a .eml file. Users can attach as many emails as they want since there is no cap. Clicking on the attached email will open it in a new window. The feature will be switched on by default.
Google states that this Gmail feature will roll out to everyone soon.
