Battlegrounds Mobile India pre-registrations began on May 18, and the game entered early access a month later.
Today, July 2, Battlegrounds Mobile India was officially launched in the country. Battlegrounds Mobile India, which was launched as the Indian version of PUBG Mobile after that game was banned in September 2020, has been available in early access until now, but the official version has now been released to the public and can be downloaded from the Google Play store. As of now, 10 million people have downloaded the game, and the developer Krafton has thanked them with in-game rewards.
Battlegrounds Mobile India has finally launched in the country, nearly a month after the official announcement from developer Krafton. The game is free to download from the Google Play store, and there has been no word on an iOS release as of yet. Those who have not pre-registered for the game can simply go to the Google Play store and download the entire game. Pre-registered players will only need to update the game from the store, which is a small download.
In some cases, the update option may not be available via the Google Play store app, so go to the store from your desktop browser and you should see the 'Install' option there (make sure you're logged in with the same Google account). This will update the game by downloading the necessary files, though some in-game content, such as texture packs and maps, may need to be partially re-downloaded.
Krafton also thanked players for helping the game reach 10 million downloads with an in-game outfit called the Constable set, which will be added to your inventory permanently. When the game reached 1 million and 5 million downloads, the developer did the same thing.
Battlegrounds Mobile India was announced in the first week of May and went live for Android users about two weeks later. On June 17, it went into open beta, which was quickly turned into early access. It has been available to play since then, but an iOS version has yet to be released.
