Tech  giant Google has removed the ability to share location on  Google Hangouts . The location-sharing feature available in Google Hangouts was very basic and was also not capable of providing realtime tracking just like Google Maps.Users were able to access the feature which was placed under the text filed in a conversation next to stickers. Users just have to search and then send map locations to users. Once sent, the full-screen map view shows where you are currently present along with the nearby places.

Users can directly search for a listing or can even enter the complete address. Once, you have selected, Hangouts will then ask if you want to ‘use this place?’ along with Google showing a prewire image and a map. The recipient will receive an inline map with place maker on mobile and on web users will receive a map preview along with the full URL. The Hangouts update version 32.0 removes the location button from the app. The feature was not available on iOS or web and starting today it will not be available on Android either. Recently, Google announced that it is making it is premium Hangouts Meet features free to all the G Suite customers.

Google CEO, Sundari Pichai took to Twitter to make the announcement. Pichai tweeted, “We want to help businesses and schools impacted by COVID-19 stay connected: starting this week, we'll roll out free access to our advanced Hangouts Meet video-conferencing capabilities through July 1, 2020, to all G Suite customers globally.”
